The first snowfall of the season blankets North India’s hill regions in white, offering breathtaking winter views from Kashmir to Uttarakhand.

The Himachal Pradesh government has resolved over 4.33 lakh long-pending revenue cases through Revenue Lok Adalats, launched to provide transparent, timely, and efficient services to the people.
A government spokesperson said on Friday that these Lok Adalats are being held regularly at Sub-Tehsil and Tehsil levels across the state. From October 2023 to August 2025, a total of 4,33,242 cases were settled, including 3,60,105 mutations, 22,592 partitions, 39,835 demarcations, and 10,710 corrections in revenue records.

The initiative has brought major relief to citizens by saving them repeated visits to government offices. A special drive launched on 30 October 2023 ensured that Lok Adalats are organised on the last two days of every month.

For the first time, revenue cases are being resolved in mission mode, yielding visible results.
The spokesperson said the programme has gained immense popularity, with people benefitting from quicker disposal of cases and reduced need for office visits. The strong response reflects public trust in this transparent and efficient system.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said, “Good governance is essential to address people’s concerns. Our government is committed to providing efficient services at people’s doorsteps. Several reforms have been introduced in the Revenue Department to simplify processes and make them more transparent and convenient.”
